In an interview on the 7.30 Report between Julia Gillard and Kerry O’Brien it was suggested that Julia Gillard is a “Communications Disaster Zone”.
As it turned out Kerry O’Brien was right. Julia Gillard led Australia to a hung Parliament and if not for three independents would have lost the election to Tony Abbott. Kevin Rudd defeated John Howard decisively in 2007 yet, only three years later after Julia Gillard knifed Kevin Rudd in the back, Julia Gillard almost gave victory to the Liberals and Tony Abbott.
The 2010 Federal Election campaign run by Julia Gillard was a mess, it was poorly managed, she lost 6% support in just one week and took Labor from a leading position to electoral disaster. Labor was saved almost a week after the election by the support of three independents, for almost a week the country was on the knife edge of gaining a Liberal Government.
She then went on to break a promise with Andrew WIlke over Poker Machine reform and lost his support. It is only because of the good fortune of a Liberal member defecting and becoming Speaker that Labor clung to power. Now Julia Gillard has squandered her chance and the public dislike her more than ever. She will lead Labor into the electoral wilderness for a decade or more. She would rather be Prime Minister and lose the election than to let Kevin Rudd lead Labor to Victory at the next election. (Click Read More to see the Video).
